Looking Forward...to growth

flags

After years of consolidation, the uranium mining industry is entering an era of expansion and opportunity. World demand for electricity is growing - but so is concern about greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. Nuclear power has an important role to play as a reliable energy source that does not produce greenhouse gases.

COGEMA Resources Inc., a subsidiary of the AREVA group, is one of the world's leading uranium exploration, mining and milling companies. We have a history of successful production at Cluff Lake and McClean Lake. In the years ahead, we will be increasing our production at the McClean Lake mine and mill complex using ore from the Cigar Lake mine, now under construction, and the planned Midwest mine. We also expect to enjoy substantial long-term benefits from our partnerships in the McArthur River, Key Lake and Cigar Lake operations.

We are working with our AREVA group colleagues in more than 40 countries, sharing expertise and capabilities as well as developing a common culture and brand. This provides exciting opportunities to incorporate common values, ethics, quality and other attributes into our diverse daily activities.

COGEMA Resources is part of the global AREVA family, but our focus is here in Saskatchewan where we are actively involved in the development of large-scale uranium deposits.

Since the 1960s, COGEMA Resources has invested more than $1 billion in northern Saskatchewan. We are increasing this investment, primarily through the Cigar Lake joint venture. Our mine and mill sites continue to set high standards in operational efficiency, occupational safety and environmental management. Our people continue to earn international recognition for their workplace safety and performance. As we look forward, COGEMA Resources will continue to grow and develop our people, improve our operations, expand our reserves and meet our social and environmental responsibilities. Read ahead and see for yourself.
