Worker Safety

The safety culture is demonstrated through dedicated employees who provide the best assurance of world-class practices, which safeguard our people and our surroundings.

A non-entry mining method has been selected, along with wet mining processes. This is an enclosed system where operators never entre the orebody or have direct contact with the ore.

All employees wear radiation monitoring devices. The results of this monitoring are provided to regulators, and show that employees' radiation intake is well below allowable limits.

Monitoring

The extensive monitoring programs include regular sampling of air, water, land, plants, and animals. Monitoring is ongoing beginning with exploration, and continuing during decommissioning.

Decommissioning

When mining is complete, the underground mine will be allowed to flood and its accesses will be sealed. Areas disturbed by the mine and underground process activities will be reclaimed.
